HOW TO PURCHASE REMNANT LAND

Remnant land can be purchased and amalgamated with adjoining private land.

Step 1

PREPARE THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS

  • 1 copy of site plan
  • Land Information - Lot Particulars for the State land under application
  • Road Line Plan
  • Photocopy of the Certificate of Title/last Deed of Conveyance of private land
  • Photocopy of the Planning Approval (Planning Permission or Written Permission, if any)
  • 3 photographs of the site
  • Photocopy of Sales & Purchase Agreement (if applicable)
  • You can purchase items (a) to (c) here.

Step 2

COMPLETE & MAIL US YOUR APPLICATION

  • The processing fee for application for purchase of remnant land is $1,000.

Step 3

RECEIVE RESULTS FROM US

  • For remnant State lands to be sold directly to only one party, you will receive a formal offer within 8 weeks from the date that SLA receives the application.
  • For complex cases which involves sale of roads and drainage reserves etc. or where a closed tender between adjoining owners is necessary, you will receive a formal offer within 20 weeks from the date SLA receives the application.
  • The sale of remnant land is subject to the concurrence of the relevant technical agencies.

Step 4

MAKE PAYMENT FOR SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION

  • For successful applicants, besides the processing fees and premium, there are two categories of charges to be paid, namely statutory and administrative charges. These are:

Statutory Charges:

  • Stamp fees payable to Commissioner of Stamp Duties under the Stamp Duties Act,
  • GST, where applicable,
  • Survey fees.

Administrative Charges:

  • Cost of issuance of Certificate of Title - $70.
  • Payment can made Via CashCard, NETS and Credit/Debit card at our Customer Service Centre at the above address; or By way of a cheque made payable to "Commissioner of Lands, SLA".
